The mouse portion of the device's Report Descriptor declares 5 buttons but only
declares 3 usages (Button 1 through Button 3). As a result events for the 2
side buttons are not generated.

Detect and repair the Report Descriptor if necessary by changing the Usage
Maximum value from Button 3 to Button 5.

Mukesh Rathor 94b04355e6 Drivers: hv: Add CONFIG_HYPERV_VMBUS option
At present VMBus driver is hinged off of CONFIG_HYPERV which entails
lot of builtin code and encompasses too much. It's not always clear
what depends on builtin hv code and what depends on VMBus. Setting
CONFIG_HYPERV as a module and fudging the Makefile to switch to builtin
adds even more confusion. VMBus is an independent module and should have
its own config option. Also, there are scenarios like baremetal dom0/root
where support is built in with CONFIG_HYPERV but without VMBus. Lastly,
there are more features coming down that use CONFIG_HYPERV and add more
dependencies on it.

So, create a fine grained HYPERV_VMBUS option and update Kconfigs for
dependency on VMBus.

Janne Grunau 8599049a96 HID: lenovo: Use KEY_PERFORMANCE instead of ACPI's platform_profile
Commit 84c9d2a968 ("HID: lenovo: Support for ThinkPad-X12-TAB-1/2 Kbd
Fn keys") added a dependency on ACPI's platform_profile. This should not
be done for generic USB devices as this prevents using the devices on
non ACPI devices like Apple silicon Macs and other non-ACPI arm64
systems. An attempt to allow using platform_profile on non-ACPI systems
was rejected in [1] and instead platform_profile was made to fail during
init in commit dd133162c9 ("ACPI: platform_profile: Avoid initializing
on non-ACPI platforms").
So remove the broken dependency and instead let's user space handle this
keycode by sending the new KEY_PERFORMANCE. Stable backport depends on
commit 89c5214639 ("Input: add keycode for performance mode key").

Jiri Kosina 765b8aa0f7 Merge branch 'for-6.15/pidff' into for-linus
From: Tomasz Pakuła <tomasz.pakula.oficjalny@gmail.com>

This patch series is focused on improving the compatibility and usability of the
hid-pidff force feedback driver. Last patch introduces a new, universal driver
for PID devices that need some special handling like report fixups, remapping the
button range, managing new pidff quirks and setting desirable fuzz/flat values.

This work has been done in the span of the past months with the help of the great
Linux simracing community, with a little input from sim flight fans from FFBeast.

No changes interfere with compliant and currently working PID devices.
"Generic" codepath was tested as well with Moza and Simxperience AccuForce v2.

I'm not married to the name. It's what we used previously, but if "universal" is
confusing (pidff is already the generic driver), we can come up with something
better like "hid-quirky-pidff" :)

With v8 and tiny finx in v9, all the outstanding issues were resolved,
additional pidff issues were fixed and hid-pidff defines moved to a dedicated
header file. This patch series could be considered done bar any comments and
requests from input maintainers.

I could save more then a dozen lines of code by changing simple if statements
to only occupy on line instead of two in there's a need for that.

Arnd Bergmann a5a056c8d2 HID: intel-thc: fix CONFIG_HID dependency
In drivers/hid/, most drivers depend on CONFIG_HID, while a couple of the
drivers in subdirectories instead depend on CONFIG_HID_SUPPORT and use
'select HID'. With the newly added INTEL_THC_HID, this causes a build
warning for a circular dependency:

WARNING: unmet direct dependencies detected for HID
  Depends on [m]: HID_SUPPORT [=y] && INPUT [=m]
  Selected by [y]:
  - INTEL_THC_HID [=y] && HID_SUPPORT [=y] && X86_64 [=y] && PCI [=y] && ACPI [=y]

  - PANTHERLORD_FF [=y] && HID_SUPPORT [=y] && HID [=y] && HID_PANTHERLORD [=m]

It's better to be consistent and always use 'depends on HID' for HID
drivers. The notable exception here is USB_KBD/USB_MOUSE, which are
alternative implementations that do not depend on the HID subsystem.

Do this by extending the "if HID" section below, which means that a few
of the duplicate "depends on HID" and "depends on INPUT" statements
can be removed in the process.

Arnd Bergmann 52572cde8b HID: lenovo: select CONFIG_ACPI_PLATFORM_PROFILE
A previous patch tried to fix this link failure:

x86_64-linux-ld: drivers/hid/hid-lenovo.o: in function `lenovo_raw_event':
hid-lenovo.c:(.text+0x22c): undefined reference to `platform_profile_cycle'

but got it wrong in three ways:

 - the link failure still exists with CONFIG_ACPI_PLATFORM_PROFILE=m
   when hid-lenovo is built-in

 - There is no way to manually enable CONFIG_ACPI_PLATFORM_PROFILE, as
it is intended to be selected by its users.

Remove the broken #if check again and instead select the symbol like
the other users do. This requires adding a dependency on CONFIG_ACPI.

Ryan McClelland 03ece95097 HID: nintendo: add support for md/gen 6B controller
The NSO MD/GEN 6B was a Japan-only controller released which has
6 buttons on the face of the controller. This adds support for this
controller. It still enumerates just like the 3B controller, but
will use extra bits in it's report for the 3 extra controllers. This
also changes the events reported to match the letter on the controller
for the NSO MD/GEN controller. The VID/PID it reports is the same as
the 3B controller.

This also removes a comment on the N64 Controllers which didn't
mean anything.

Charles Wang 75e16c8ce2 HID: hid-goodix: Add Goodix HID-over-SPI driver
This patch introduces a new driver to support the Goodix GT7986U
touch controller. This device is not compatible with Microsoft's
HID-over-SPI protocol and therefore needs to implement its own
flavor. The data reported is packaged according to the HID
protocol but uses SPI for communication to improve speed. This
enables the device to transmit not only coordinate data but also
corresponding raw data that can be accessed by user-space programs
through the hidraw interface. The raw data can be utilized for
functions like palm rejection, thereby improving the touch experience.

Key features:
- Device connection confirmation and initialization
- IRQ-based event reporting to the input subsystem
- Support for HIDRAW operations (GET_REPORT and SET_REPORT)

Ryan McClelland 94f18bb199 HID: nintendo: add support for nso controllers
This adds support for the nintendo switch online controllers which
include the SNES, Genesis, and N64 Controllers.

As each nso controller only implements a subset of what a pro
controller can do. Each of these 'features' were broken up in to
seperate functions which include right stick, left stick, imu, and
dpad and depending on the controller type that it is, it will call
the supported functions appropriately.

Each controller now has a struct which maps the bit within the hid
in report to a button.

The name given to the device now comes directly from the hid
device name rather than looking up a predefined string.

Johannes Roith 740329d712 HID: mcp2200: added driver for GPIOs of MCP2200
Added a gpiochip compatible driver to control the 8 GPIOs of
the MCP2200 by using the HID interface.

Using GPIOs with alternative functions (GP0<->SSPND, GP1<->USBCFG,
GP6<->RXLED, GP7<->TXLED) will reset the functions, if set (unset by
default).

The driver was tested while also using the UART of the chip. Setting
and reading the GPIOs has no effect on the UART communication. However,
a reset is triggered after the CONFIGURE command. If the GPIO Direction
is constantly changed, this will affect the communication at low baud
rates. This is a hardware problem of the MCP2200 and is not caused by
the driver.
