treewide: rename GPIO set callbacks back to their original names
The conversion of all GPIO drivers to using the .set_rv() and .set_multiple_rv() callbacks from struct gpio_chip (which - unlike their predecessors - return an integer and allow the controller drivers to indicate failures to users) is now complete and the legacy ones have been removed. Rename the new callbacks back to their original names in one sweeping change. Signed-off-by: Bartosz Golaszewski <bartosz.golaszewski@linaro.org> |

USB / Thunderbolt changes for 6.17-rc1
Here is the big set of USB and Thunderbolt driver changes for 6.17-rc1. Lots of little things in here, mostly all small cleanups and updates, no major new features this development cycle. Stuff included in here is: - xhci minor tweaks for error handling - typec minor updates and a driver update - gadget driver api cleanups - unused function removals - unbind memory leak fixes - a few new device ids added - a few new devices supported for some drivers - other minor cleanups and changes All of these have been in linux-next with no reported issues, with the leak fixes being in the shortest amount of time, but they are "obviously correct" :) Signed-off-by: Greg Kroah-Hartman <gregkh@linuxfoundation.org> -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- iG0EABECAC0WIQT0tgzFv3jCIUoxPcsxR9QN2y37KQUCaIeVLw8cZ3JlZ0Brcm9h aC5jb20ACgkQMUfUDdst+yn3RACgg394VU3ENwqvkh1iF95fVwVheJYAn08YUeoM 98vPdogv4+kuC3B0TbiM =7pfy -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- Merge tag 'usb-6.17-rc1' of git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/gregkh/usb Pull USB / Thunderbolt updates from Greg KH: "Here is the big set of USB and Thunderbolt driver changes for 6.17-rc1. tty: introduce and use tty_port_tty_vhangup() helper
This code (tty_get -> vhangup -> tty_put) is repeated on few places. Introduce a helper similar to tty_port_tty_hangup() (asynchronous) to handle even vhangup (synchronous). And use it on those places. In fact, reuse the tty_port_tty_hangup()'s code and call tty_vhangup() depending on a new bool parameter. USB: serial: simple: add OWON HDS200 series oscilloscope support
Add serial support for OWON HDS200 series oscilloscopes and likely
many other pieces of OWON test equipment.
OWON HDS200 series devices host two USB endpoints, designed to
facilitate bidirectional SCPI. SCPI is a predominately ASCII text

for these devices lowers the barrier to entry for anyone trying to
write programs to communicate with them.
The following shows the USB descriptor for the OWON HDS272S running

OWON appears to be using the same USB Vendor and Product ID for many
of their oscilloscopes. Looking at the discussion about the USB
vendor/product ID, in the link bellow, suggests that this VID/PID is
shared with VDS, SDS, PDS, and now the HDS series oscilloscopes.
Available documentation for these devices seems to indicate that all
use a similar SCPI protocol, some with RS232 options. It is likely that
this same simple serial setup would work correctly for them all.

USB: serial: ftdi_sio: add support for Altera USB Blaster 3
The Altera USB Blaster 3, available as both a cable and an on-board solution, is primarily used for programming and debugging FPGAs. It interfaces with host software such as Quartus Programmer, System Console, SignalTap, and Nios Debugger. The device utilizes either an FT2232 or FT4232 chip. Enabling the support for various configurations of the on-board USB Blaster 3 by including the appropriate VID/PID pairs, allowing it to function as a serial device via ftdi_sio. Note that this check-in does not include support for the cable solution, as it does not support UART functionality. The supported configurations are determined by the hardware design and include: 1) PID 0x6022, FT2232, 1 JTAG port (Port A) + Port B as UART 2) PID 0x6025, FT4232, 1 JTAG port (Port A) + Port C as UART 3) PID 0x6026, FT4232, 1 JTAG port (Port A) + Port C, D as UART 4) PID 0x6029, FT4232, 1 JTAG port (Port B) + Port C as UART 5) PID 0x602a, FT4232, 1 JTAG port (Port B) + Port C, D as UART 6) PID 0x602c, FT4232, 1 JTAG port (Port A) + Port B as UART 7) PID 0x602d, FT4232, 1 JTAG port (Port A) + Port B, C as UART 8) PID 0x602e, FT4232, 1 JTAG port (Port A) + Port B, C, D as UART These configurations allow for flexibility in how the USB Blaster 3 is used, depending on the specific needs of the hardware design. USB: serial: option: match on interface class for Telit FN990B
The device id entries for Telit FN990B ended up matching only on the interface protocol. While this works, the protocol is qualified by the interface class (and subclass) which should have been included. Switch to matching using USB_DEVICE_AND_INTERFACE_INFO() while keeping the entries sorted also by protocol for consistency. USB: serial: option: add MeiG Smart SLM828
MeiG Smart SLM828 is an LTE-A CAT6 modem with the mPCIe form factor. The "Cls=ff(vend.) Sub=10 Prot=02" and "Cls=ff(vend.) Sub=10 Prot=03" interfaces respond to AT commands. Add these interfaces. The product ID the modem uses is shared across multiple modems. Therefore, add comments to describe which interface is used for which modem. USB: serial: quatech2: fix null-ptr-deref in qt2_process_read_urb()
This patch addresses a null-ptr-deref in qt2_process_read_urb() due to
an incorrect bounds check in the following:
if (newport > serial->num_ports) {
dev_err(&port->dev,
"%s - port change to invalid port: %i\n",
__func__, newport);
break;
}
The condition doesn't account for the valid range of the serial->port
buffer, which is from 0 to serial->num_ports - 1. When newport is equal
to serial->num_ports, the assignment of "port" in the
following code is out-of-bounds and NULL:
serial_priv->current_port = newport;
port = serial->port[serial_priv->current_port];
The fix checks if newport is greater than or equal to serial->num_ports
indicating it is out-of-bounds.

USB / Thunderbolt (USB4) changes for 6.13-rc1
Here is the big set of USB and Thunderbolt changes for 6.13-rc1. Overall, a pretty slow development cycle, the majority of the work going into the debugfs interface for the thunderbolt (i.e. USB4) code, to help with debugging the myrad ways that hardware vendors get their interfaces messed up. Other than that, here's the highlights: - thunderbolt changes and additions to debugfs interfaces - lots of device tree updates for new and old hardware - UVC configfs gadget updates and new apis for features - xhci driver updates and fixes - dwc3 driver updates and fixes - typec driver updates and fixes - lots of other small updates and fixes, full details in the shortlog All of these have been in linux-next for a while with no reported problems. USB: make single lock for all usb dynamic id lists
There are a number of places where we accidentally pass in a constant structure to later cast it off to a dynamic one, and then attempt to grab a lock on it, which is not a good idea. To help resolve this, move the dynamic id lock out of the dynamic id structure for the driver and into one single lock for all USB dynamic ids. As this lock should never have any real contention (it's only every accessed when a device is added or removed, which is always serialized) there should not be any difference except for some memory savings. Note, this just converts the existing use of the dynamic id lock to the new static lock, there is one place that is accessing the dynamic id list without grabbing the lock, that will be fixed up in a follow-on change. USB: serial: ftdi_sio: Fix atomicity violation in get_serial_info()
Our static checker found a bug where set_serial_info() uses a mutex, but
get_serial_info() does not. Fortunately, the impact of this is relatively
minor. It doesn't cause a crash or any other serious issues. However, if a
race condition occurs between set_serial_info() and get_serial_info(),
there is a chance that the data returned by get_serial_info() will be
inconsistent.

USB: serial: pl2303: account for deficits of clones
There are apparently incomplete clones of the HXD type chip in use. Those return -EPIPE on GET_LINE_REQUEST and BREAK_REQUEST. Avoid flooding the kernel log with those errors. Detect them during startup and then use the line_settings cache instead of GET_LINE_REQUEST. Signal missing break support via -ENOTTY.
