There is currently two function for performing reset: dsi_sw_reset and
dsi_sw_reset_restore. Only difference between those is that latter one
assumes that DSI controller is enabled. In contrary former one assumes
that controller is disabled and executed during power-on. However this
assumtion is not true mobile devices which have boot splash set up by
boot-loader.
This patch removes dsi_sw_reset_restore and makes dsi_sw_reset disable
DSI controller during reset sequence if it's enabled.

As noticed by Dan ([1] an the followup thread) there are multiple issues
with the return values for MSM DSI command transmission callback. In
the error case it can easily return a positive value when it should
have returned a proper error code.
This commits attempts to fix these issues both in TX and in RX paths.

When DSC is enabled, we need to configure DSI registers accordingly and
configure the respective stream compression registers.
Add support to calculate the register setting based on DSC params and
timing information and configure these registers.

When DSC is enabled, we need to get the DSC parameters from the panel
driver, so add a dsc parameter in panel to fetch and pass DSC
configuration for DSI panels to DPU encoder, which will enable and
then configure DSC hardware blocks accordingly.

Config autodetect based on DSI controller version is quite limited
since several qcom SoCs can integrate a DSI controller with the same
version, but with different config (io_offset, supplies, etc).
This change allows to specify dsi config via device data pointer.
config autodetect is still used in case data pointer is NULL.

Quoting the header comments, IRQF_ONESHOT is "Used by threaded interrupts
which need to keep the irq line disabled until the threaded handler has
been run.". When applied to an interrupt that doesn't request a threaded
irq then IRQF_ONESHOT has a lesser known (undocumented?) side effect,
which it to disable the forced threading of irqs (and for "normal" kernels
it is a nop). In this case I can find no evidence that suppressing forced
threading is intentional. Had it been intentional then a driver must adopt
the raw_spinlock API in order to avoid deadlocks on PREEMPT_RT kernels
(and avoid calling any kernel API that uses regular spinlocks).
Fix this by removing the spurious additional flag.
This change is required for my Snapdragon 7cx Gen2 tablet to boot-to-GUI
with PREEMPT_RT enabled.

There is no reason to set clock parents manually, use device tree to
assign DSI/display clock parents to DSI PHY clocks. Dropping this manual
setup allows us to drop repeating code and to move registration of hw
clock providers to generic place.

If "data_lanes" property of the dsi output endpoint is missing in
the DT, num_data_lanes would be 0 by default, which could cause
dsi_host_attach() to fail if dsi->lanes is set to a non-zero value
by the bridge driver.
According to the binding document of msm dsi controller, the
input/output endpoint of the controller is expected to have 4 lanes.
So let's set num_data_lanes to 4 by default.

Use clk_bulk_* API instead of hand-coding them. Note, this drops support

The DSI host might be left in some state by the bootloader. If this
state generates an IRQ, it might hang the system by holding the
interrupt line before the driver sets up the DSI host to the known
state.
Move the request_irq into msm_dsi_host_init and pass IRQF_NO_AUTOEN to
it. Call enable/disable_irq after msm_dsi_host_power_on/_off()
functions, so that we can be sure that the interrupt is delivered when
the host is in the known state.
It is not possible to defer the interrupt enablement to a later point,
because drm_panel_prepare might need to communicate with the panel over
the DSI link and that requires working interrupt.

During board bringups its useful to have a DSI test pattern
generator to isolate a DPU vs a DSI issue and focus on the relevant
hardware block.
To facilitate this, add an API which triggers the DSI controller
test pattern. The expected output is a rectangular checkered pattern.
This has been validated on a single DSI video mode panel by calling it
right after drm_panel_enable() which is also the ideal location to use
this as the DSI host and the panel have been initialized by then.
Further validation on dual DSI and command mode panel is pending.
If there are any fix ups needed for those, it shall be applied on top
of this change.

Many of the DSI flags have names opposite to their actual effects,
e.g. MIPI_DSI_MODE_EOT_PACKET means that EoT packets will actually
be disabled. Fix this by including _NO_ in the flag names, e.g.

Add the msm_disp_snapshot module which adds supports to dump dpu
registers and capture the drm atomic state which can be used in
case of error conditions.

All MSM DSI PHYs provide two clocks: byte and pixel ones.
Register/unregister provided clocks from the generic place, removing
boilerplate code from all MSM DSI PHY drivers.

The only usage of dsi_host_ops is to assign its address to the ops field
in the mipi_dsi_host struct, which is a const pointer. Make it const to
allow the compiler to put it in read-only memory.

dev_pm_opp_of_remove_table() doesn't report any errors when it fails to
find the OPP table with error -ENODEV (i.e. OPP table not present for
the device). And we can call dev_pm_opp_of_remove_table()
unconditionally here.
While at it, also create a label to put clkname.

On SDM845 and SC7180 DSI needs to express a performance state
requirement on a power domain depending on the clock rates.
Use OPP table from DT to register with OPP framework and use
dev_pm_opp_set_rate() to set the clk/perf state.
dev_pm_opp_set_rate() is designed to be equivalent to clk_set_rate()
for devices without an OPP table, hence the change works fine
on devices/platforms which only need to set a clock rate.

Spelling out _unlocked for each and every driver is a annoying.
Especially if we consider how many drivers, do not know (or need to)
about the horror stories involving struct_mutex.
Just drop the suffix. It makes the API cleaner.

LANE_CTRL register in latest version of DSI controller (v2.2)
has additional functionality introduced to enable/disable HS
signalling with default value set to enabled. To accommodate this
change, LANE_CTRL register should be read and bit wise ORed to enable
non continuous clock mode. Without this change, if register is written
directly, HS signalling will be disabled resulting in black screen.

On msm8998, vblank timeouts are observed because the DSI controller is not
reset properly, which ends up stalling the MDP. This is because the reset
logic is not correct per the hardware documentation.
The documentation states that after asserting reset, software should wait
some time (no indication of how long), or poll the status register until it
returns 0 before deasserting reset.
wmb() is insufficient for this purpose since it just ensures ordering, not
timing between writes. Since asserting and deasserting reset occurs on the
same register, ordering is already guaranteed by the architecture, making
the wmb extraneous.
Since we would define a timeout for polling the status register to avoid a
possible infinite loop, lets just use a static delay of 20 ms, since 16.666
ms is the time available to process one frame at 60 fps.

clk_get_parent returns an error pointer upon failure, not NULL. So the
checks as they exist won't catch a failure. This patch changes the

Drop the deprecated drmP.h header file, and trim msm_drv.h
to the relevant include files.
This resulted in a suprisingly many edits as many files relied
on headers included via msm_drv.h.
But msm_drv.h is not supposed to carry include files it do not need, so
the individual files have to include what extra they needs.

if Sean merges that through drm-mix-fixes instead.
(In other news, I've been making some progress w/ getting efifb working
properly on sdm850 laptop without horrible hacks, and drm/msm + clk stuff
not totally falling over when bootloader enables display and things are
already running when driver probes.. but not quite ready yet, hopefully
we can post some of that for 5.4.. should help for both the sdm835 and
sdm850 laptops.)

Add a reference count to track how many times a particular
chunk of iova memory is pinned (mapped) in the iomu and
add msm_gem_unpin_iova to give up references.
It is important to note that msm_gem_unpin_iova replaces
msm_gem_put_iova because the new implicit behavior
that an assigned iova in a given vma is now valid for the
life of the buffer and what we are really focusing on is
the use of that iova.
For now the unmappings are lazy; once the reference counts
go to zero they *COULD* be unmapped dynamically but that
will require an outside force such as a shrinker or
mm_notifiers. For now, we're just focusing on getting
the counting right and setting ourselves up to be ready
for the future.

Add a new function to get and pin the iova memory in one
step (basically renaming the old msm_gem_get_iova function)
and switch msm_gem_get_iova() to only allocate an iova but
not map it in the IOMMU. This is only currently used by
msm_ioctl_gem_info() since all other users of of the iova
expect that the memory be immediately available.

For dual dsi mode, the horizontal timing needs
to be divided by half since both the dsi controllers
will be driving this panel. Adjust the pixel clock and

Right now, the DRM panel logic returns NULL when a panel pointing to
the passed OF node is not present in the list of registered panels.
Most drivers interpret this NULL value as -EPROBE_DEFER, but we are
about to modify the semantic of of_drm_find_panel() and let the
framework return -ENODEV when the device node we're pointing to has
a status property that is not equal to "okay" or "ok".
Let's first patch the of_drm_find_panel() implementation to return
ERR_PTR(-EPROBE_DEFER) instead of NULL and patch all callers to replace
the '!panel' check by an 'IS_ERR(panel)' one.

This patch avoids dereferencing msm_host->dev when it is NULL.
If we find ourselves tearing down dsi before calling
(mdp4|mdp5|dpu)_kms_init(), we'll end up in a state where the dev
pointer is NULL and trying to extract priv from it will fail.
This was introduced in a seemingly innocuous commit to ensure the
arguments to msm_gem_put_iova() are correct (even though that
function has been a stub for ~5 years). Correctness FTW! \o/

Newer DSI host controllers (SDM845 in particular) require a new clock
called byte_intf_clk. A recent patch tried to add this as an optional
clock, but it still set 'ret' to an error number if it didn't find it.
This breaks the host's probe for all previous DSI host versions.
Instead of setting this up as an optional clock, try to get the clock
only for the DSI version that supports it.

DSI6G v2.0+ blocks have a new clock input to them called
byte_intf_clk. It's rate is to be set as byte_clk / 2.
Within the clock controller (CC) subsystem, this clock is a
child/descendant of the byte_clk.
Set it up as an optional clock in the DSI host driver. Make sure
that we enable/set its rate only after we configure byte_clk.
This is required for the ancestor clocks in the CC to be
configured correctly.

Requested by Ben Skeggs for nouveau to avoid major conflicts,
and things were getting a bit conflicty already, esp around amdgpu
reverts.
We already have, as a result of upstreaming the gpu bindings,

"_clk" suffix. Use this in DSI code so we can drop the "_clk" suffix
in bindings while maintaing backwards compatibility.

The DSI runtime PM suspend/resume callbacks check whether
msm_host->cfg_hnd is non-NULL before trying to enable the bus clocks.
This is done to accommodate early calls to these functions that may
happen before the bus clocks are even initialized.
Calling pm_runtime_put_autosuspend() in dsi_host_init() can result in
racy behaviour since msm_host->cfg_hnd is set very soon after. If the
suspend callback happens too late, we end up trying to disable clocks
that were never enabled, resulting in a bunch of WARN_ON splats.
Use pm_runtime_put_sync() so that the suspend callback is called
immediately.

The bus clocks are always enabled/disabled along with the power
domain, so move it to the runtime suspend/resume ops. This cleans
up the clock code a bit. Get rid of the clk_mutex mutex since it
isn't needed.

Call the pm_runtime_get/put API where we need the clocks enabled.
The main entry/exit points are 1) enabling/disabling the DSI bridge
and 2) Sending commands from the DSI host to the device.

After the commit mentioned below, we start computing the byte and pixel
clocks (dsi_calc_clk_rate) in the DSI bridge's mode_set() op. The
calculation involves the number of DSI lanes being used by the
downstream bridge/panel.
If the downstream bridge/panel tries to change the number of DSI lanes
(as done in the ADV7533 driver) in its mode_set() op, then our DSI
host driver will not have the correct number of lanes when computing
byte/pixel clocks.
Fix this by delaying the clock rate calculation in the DSI bridge
enable path. In particular, compute the clock rates in
msm_dsi_host_get_phy_clk_req().
This fixes the DSI host error interrupts seen when we try to switch
between modes that require different number of lanes (4 to 3 lanes, or
vice versa) on db410c. The error interrupts occur since the byte/pixel
clock rates aren't according to what the DSI video mode timing engine
expects.

Buffer object specific resources like pages, domains, sg list
need not be protected with struct_mutex. They can be protected
with a buffer object level lock. This simplifies locking and
makes it easier to avoid potential recursive locking scenarios
for SVM involving mmap_sem and struct_mutex. This also removes
unnecessary serialization when creating buffer objects, and also
between buffer object creation and GPU command submission.

Before we can shift to passing the address-space object to _get_iova(),
we need to fix a few places (dsi+fbdev) that were hard-coding the adress
space id. That gets somewhat easier if we just move these to the kms
base class.

Convert drivers to use the new of_graph_get_remote_node() helper
instead of parsing the endpoint node and then getting the remote device
node. Now drivers can just specify the device node and which
port/endpoint and get back the connected remote device node. The details
of the graph binding are nicely abstracted into the core OF graph code.
This changes some error messages to debug messages (in the graph core).
Graph connections are often "no connects" depending on the particular
board, so we want to avoid spurious messages. Plus the kernel is not a
DT validator.

Since DSI PHY has been a separate platform device, it should not
depend on the resources in host to be functional. This change is
to trigger PHY operations in manager, instead of host, so that
host and PHY can be completely separated.

In case of dual DSI, some registers in PHY1 have been programmed
during PLL0 clock's set_rate. The PHY1 reset called by host1 later
will silently reset those PHY1 registers. This change is to reset
and enable both PHYs before any PLL clock operation.

The DSI host is required to configure more timings calculated
in PHY. By introducing a shared structure, this change allows
more timing information passed from PHY to host.
