Merge tag 'vfs-6.19-rc1.directory.locking' of git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/vfs/vfs

Pull directory locking updates from Christian Brauner:
"This contains the work to add centralized APIs for directory locking
  operations.

This series is part of a larger effort to change directory operation
locking to allow multiple concurrent operations in a directory. The
ultimate goal is to lock the target dentry(s) rather than the whole
  parent directory.

To help with changing the locking protocol, this series centralizes
locking and lookup in new helper functions. The helpers establish a
pattern where it is the dentry that is being locked and unlocked
(currently the lock is held on dentry->d_parent->d_inode, but that can
  change in the future).

This also changes vfs_mkdir() to unlock the parent on failure, as well
as dput()ing the dentry. This allows end_creating() to only require
the target dentry (which may be IS_ERR() after vfs_mkdir()), not the
  parent"

ChenXiaoSong c4a2a49f7d smb: move FILE_SYSTEM_ATTRIBUTE_INFO to common/fscc.h
Modify the following places:

  - struct filesystem_attribute_info -> FILE_SYSTEM_ATTRIBUTE_INFO
  - Remove MIN_FS_ATTR_INFO_SIZE definition
  - Introduce MAX_FS_NAME_LEN
  - max_len of FileFsAttributeInformation -> sizeof(FILE_SYSTEM_ATTRIBUTE_INFO) + MAX_FS_NAME_LEN
  - min_len of FileFsAttributeInformation -> sizeof(FILE_SYSTEM_ATTRIBUTE_INFO)
  - SMB2_QFS_attr(): memcpy(..., min_len)

Then move FILE_SYSTEM_ATTRIBUTE_INFO to common header file.

I have tested the relevant code related to FILE_SYSTEM_ATTRIBUTE_INFO (Link[1]).

Aaditya Kansal e4442b2e95 ksmbd: implement error handling for STATUS_INFO_LENGTH_MISMATCH in smb server
Add STATUS_INFO_LENGTH_MISMATCH mapping to EMSGSIZE.
Currently, STATUS_INFO_LENGTH_MISMATCH has no mapping to any error code,
making it difficult to distinguish between invalid parameters and length
mismatch.

Map STATUS_INFO_LENGTH_MISMATCH to EMSGSIZE while keeping the EINVAL for
invalid parameters. Although the buf_len check only checks for buf_size
being less than required, there was no error code for lower buf_size.
Hence, EMSGSIZE is used.

ChenXiaoSong 5003ad718a smb: move create_durable_reconn to common/smb2pdu.h
The fields in struct create_durable_reconn_req and struct create_durable
are exactly the same, so remove create_durable_reconn_req from server,
and use typedef to define both create_durable_req_t and
create_durable_reconn_t for a single struct.

Rename the following places:

  - struct create_durable -> create_durable_req_t
  - struct create_durable_reconn_req -> create_durable_reconn_t

The documentation references are:

  - SMB2_CREATE_DURABLE_HANDLE_REQUEST in MS-SMB2 2.2.13.2.3
  - SMB2_CREATE_DURABLE_HANDLE_RECONNECT in MS-SMB2 2.2.13.2.4
  - SMB2_FILEID in MS-SMB2 2.2.14.1

Descriptions of the struct fields:

  - __u8 Reserved[16]: DurableRequest field of SMB2_CREATE_DURABLE_HANDLE_REQUEST.
A 16-byte field that MUST be reserved.
  - __u64 PersistentFileId: Persistent field of 2.2.14.1 SMB2_FILEID
  - __u64 VolatileFileId: Volatile field of 2.2.14.1 SMB2_FILEID
  - struct Fid: Data field of SMB2_CREATE_DURABLE_HANDLE_RECONNECT.
An SMB2_FILEID structure, as specified in section 2.2.14.1.

ZhangGuoDong 1172d85984 smb: move some duplicate definitions to common/smb2pdu.h
In order to maintain the code more easily, move duplicate definitions to
common header file.

There are only 4 different definitions, the client uses cpu_to_le16()
but the server does not:

  - RSS_CAPABLE
  - RDMA_CAPABLE
  - INTERNETWORK
  - INTERNETWORKV6

The other definitions are exactly the same on both client and server.

The struct smb_hdr is defined in MS-CIFS and MS-SMB, but it's also used by
SMB2 and SMB3, so move it to the common smb2pdu.h.

Convert ksmbd_sign_smb2_pdu() and generate_key() to use the HMAC-SHA256

faster. With the library there's no need to allocate memory, no need to

inefficient indirect calls and other unnecessary API overhead.

smb/server: use end_removing_noperm for for target of smb2_create_link()
Sometimes smb2_create_link() needs to remove the target before creating
the link.
It uses ksmbd_vfs_kern_locked(), and is the only user of that interface.

To match the new naming, that function is changed to
ksmbd_vfs_kern_start_removing(), and related functions or flags are also
renamed.

The lock actually happens in ksmbd_vfs_path_lookup() and that is changed
to use start_removing_noperm() - permission to perform lookup in the
parent was already checked in vfs_path_parent_lookup().

This causes hung connections / tasks when a client attempts to open

Philipp Kerling b5ee94ac65 ksmbd: allow a filename to contain colons on SMB3.1.1 posix extensions
If the client sends SMB2_CREATE_POSIX_CONTEXT to ksmbd, allow the filename
to contain a colon (':'). This requires disabling the support for Alternate
Data Streams (ADS), which are denoted by a colon-separated suffix to the
filename on Windows. This should not be an issue, since this concept is not
known to POSIX anyway and the client has to explicitly request a POSIX
context to get this behavior.

Linus Torvalds 8be4d31cb8 Networking changes for 6.17.
Core & protocols
 ----------------

  - Wrap datapath globals into net_aligned_data, to avoid false sharing.

  - Preserve MSG_ZEROCOPY in forwarding (e.g. out of a container).

  - Add SO_INQ and SCM_INQ support to AF_UNIX.

  - Add SIOCINQ support to AF_VSOCK.

  - Add TCP_MAXSEG sockopt to MPTCP.

  - Add IPv6 force_forwarding sysctl to enable forwarding per interface.

  - Make TCP validation of whether packet fully fits in the receive
window and the rcv_buf more strict. With increased use of HW
aggregation a single "packet" can be multiple 100s of kB.

  - Add MSG_MORE flag to optimize large TCP transmissions via sockmap,
improves latency up to 33% for sockmap users.

  - Convert TCP send queue handling from tasklet to BH workque.

  - Improve BPF iteration over TCP sockets to see each socket exactly once.

  - Remove obsolete and unused TCP RFC3517/RFC6675 loss recovery code.

  - Support enabling kernel threads for NAPI processing on per-NAPI
instance basis rather than a whole device. Fully stop the kernel NAPI
thread when threaded NAPI gets disabled. Previously thread would stick
around until ifdown due to tricky synchronization.

  - Allow multicast routing to take effect on locally-generated packets.

  - Add output interface argument for End.X in segment routing.

  - MCTP: add support for gateway routing, improve bind() handling.

  - Don't require rtnl_lock when fetching an IPv6 neighbor over Netlink.

  - Add a new neighbor flag ("extern_valid"), which cedes refresh
responsibilities to userspace. This is needed for EVPN multi-homing
where a neighbor entry for a multi-homed host needs to be synced
across all the VTEPs among which the host is multi-homed.

  - Support NUD_PERMANENT for proxy neighbor entries.

  - Add a new queuing discipline for IETF RFC9332 DualQ Coupled AQM.

  - Add sequence numbers to netconsole messages. Unregister netconsole's
console when all net targets are removed. Code refactoring.
    Add a number of selftests.

  - Align IPSec inbound SA lookup to RFC 4301. Only SPI and protocol
should be used for an inbound SA lookup.

  - Support inspecting ref_tracker state via DebugFS.

  - Don't force bonding advertisement frames tx to ~333 ms boundaries.
Add broadcast_neighbor option to send ARP/ND on all bonded links.

  - Allow providing upcall pid for the 'execute' command in openvswitch.

  - Remove DCCP support from Netfilter's conntrack.

  - Disallow multiple packet duplications in the queuing layer.

  - Prevent use of deprecated iptables code on PREEMPT_RT.

 Driver API
 ----------

  - Support RSS and hashing configuration over ethtool Netlink.

  - Add dedicated ethtool callbacks for getting and setting hashing fields.

  - Add support for power budget evaluation strategy in PSE /
Power-over-Ethernet. Generate Netlink events for overcurrent etc.

  - Support DPLL phase offset monitoring across all device inputs.
Support providing clock reference and SYNC over separate DPLL
    inputs.

  - Support traffic classes in devlink rate API for bandwidth management.

  - Remove rtnl_lock dependency from UDP tunnel port configuration.

 Device drivers
 --------------

NeilBrown 4e45cca31d smb/server: add ksmbd_vfs_kern_path()
The function ksmbd_vfs_kern_path_locked() seems to serve two functions
and as a result has an odd interface.

On success it returns with the parent directory locked and with write
access on that filesystem requested, but it may have crossed over a
mount point to return the path, which makes the lock and the write
access irrelevant.

This patches separates the functionality into two functions:
- ksmbd_vfs_kern_path() does not lock the parent, does not request
write access, but does cross mount points
- ksmbd_vfs_kern_path_locked() does not cross mount points but
does lock the parent and request write access.

The parent_path parameter is no longer needed. For the _locked case
the final path is sufficient to drop write access and to unlock the
parent (using path->dentry->d_parent which is safe while the lock is
held).

There were 3 caller of ksmbd_vfs_kern_path_locked().

- smb2_create_link() needs to remove the target if it existed and
needs the lock and the write-access, so it continues to use
ksmbd_vfs_kern_path_locked(). It would not make sense to
cross mount points in this case.
- smb2_open() is the only user that needs to cross mount points
and it has no need for the lock or write access, so it now uses
  ksmbd_vfs_kern_path()
- smb2_creat() does not need to cross mountpoints as it is accessing
a file that it has just created on *this* filesystem. But also it
does not need the lock or write access because by the time
ksmbd_vfs_kern_path_locked() was called it has already created the
file. So it could use either interface. It is simplest to use
  ksmbd_vfs_kern_path().

ksmbd_vfs_kern_path_unlock() is still needed after
ksmbd_vfs_kern_path_locked() but it doesn't require the parent_path any
more. After a successful call to ksmbd_vfs_kern_path(), only path_put()
is needed to release the path.

NeilBrown d5fc1400a3 smb/server: avoid deadlock when linking with ReplaceIfExists
If smb2_create_link() is called with ReplaceIfExists set and the name
does exist then a deadlock will happen.

ksmbd_vfs_kern_path_locked() will return with success and the parent
directory will be locked. ksmbd_vfs_remove_file() will then remove the
file. ksmbd_vfs_link() will then be called while the parent is still
locked. It will try to lock the same parent and will deadlock.

This patch moves the ksmbd_vfs_kern_path_unlock() call to *before*
ksmbd_vfs_link() and then simplifies the code, removing the file_present
flag variable.

introduced netif_ vs dev_ function semantics: the former expects locked

now that don't fit. Rename them to netif_xxx where appropriate.

Namjae Jeon 4ea0bb8aae ksmbd: handle set/get info file for streamed file
The bug only appears when:
 - windows 11 copies a file that has an alternate data stream
 - streams_xattr is enabled on the share configuration.

Microsoft Edge adds a ZoneIdentifier data stream containing the URL
for files it downloads.

Another way to create a test file:
 - open cmd.exe
 - echo "hello from default data stream" > hello.txt
 - echo "hello again from ads" > hello.txt:ads.txt

If you open the file using notepad, we'll see the first message.
If you run "notepad hello.txt:ads.txt" in cmd.exe, we should see
the second message.

dir /s /r should least all streams for the file.

The truncation happens because the windows 11 client sends
a SetInfo/EndOfFile message on the ADS, but it is instead applied
on the main file, because we don't check fp->stream.

When receiving set/get info file for a stream file, Change to process
requests using stream position and size.
Truncate is unnecessary for stream files, so we skip
set_file_allocation_info and set_end_of_file_info operations.

Namjae Jeon 571781eb7f ksmbd: provide zero as a unique ID to the Mac client
The Mac SMB client code seems to expect the on-disk file identifier
to have the semantics of HFS+ Catalog Node Identifier (CNID).
ksmbd provides the inode number as a unique ID to the client,
but in the case of subvolumes of btrfs, there are cases where different
files have the same inode number, so the mac smb client treats it
as an error. There is a report that a similar problem occurs
when the share is ZFS.
Returning UniqueId of zero will make the Mac client to stop using and
trusting the file id returned from the server.

Pull vfs directory lookup updates from Christian Brauner:
"This contains cleanups for the lookup_one*() family of helpers.

We expose a set of functions with names containing "lookup_one_len"
and others without the "_len". This difference has nothing to do with
"len". It's rater a historical accident that can be confusing.

The functions without "_len" take a "mnt_idmap" pointer. This is found
in the "vfsmount" and that is an important question when choosing
which to use: do you have a vfsmount, or are you "inside" the
filesystem. A related question is "is permission checking relevant
  here?".

nfsd and cachefiles *do* have a vfsmount but *don't* use the non-_len
functions. They pass nop_mnt_idmap and refuse to work on filesystems
  which have any other idmap.

This work changes nfsd and cachefile to use the lookup_one family of
functions and to explictily pass &nop_mnt_idmap which is consistent
with all other vfs interfaces used where &nop_mnt_idmap is explicitly
  passed.

The remaining uses of the "_one" functions do not require permission
checks so these are renamed to be "_noperm" and the permission
  checking is removed.

This series also changes these lookup function to take a qstr instead
of separate name and len. In many cases this simplifies the call"
