Eric Woudstra 71e7943011 net: phy: air_en8811h: Add the Airoha EN8811H PHY driver
Add the driver for the Airoha EN8811H 2.5 Gigabit PHY. The phy supports
100/1000/2500 Mbps with auto negotiation only.

The driver uses two firmware files, for which updated versions are added to
linux-firmware already.

Note: At phy-address + 8 there is another device on the mdio bus, that
belongs to the EN881H. While the original driver writes to it, Airoha
has confirmed this is not needed. Therefore, communication with this
device is not included in this driver.

Russell King (Oracle) 30dc587396 net: phy: qcom: at803x: Avoid hibernating if MAC requires RX clock
Stmmac controllers connected to an at803x PHY cannot resume properly after
suspend when WoL is enabled. This happens because the MAC requires an RX
clock generated by the PHY to initialize its hardware properly. But the RX
clock is cut when the PHY suspends and isn't brought up until the MAC
driver resumes the phylink.

Prevent the at803x PHY driver from going into suspend if the attached MAC
driver always requires an RX clock signal.

Romain Gantois dceb393a0a net: phylink: add rxc_always_on flag to phylink_pcs
Some MAC drivers (e.g. stmmac) require a continuous receive clock signal to
be generated by a PCS that is handled by a standalone PCS driver.

Such a PCS driver does not have access to a PHY device, thus cannot check
the PHY_F_RXC_ALWAYS_ON flag. They cannot check max_requires_rxc in the
phylink config either, since it is a private member. Therefore, a new flag
is needed to signal to the PCS that it should keep the RX clock signal up
at all times.

Russell King (Oracle) 21d9ba5bc5 net: phylink: add PHY_F_RXC_ALWAYS_ON to PHY dev flags
Some MAC controllers (e.g. stmmac) require their connected PHY to
continuously provide a receive clock signal. This can cause issues in two
cases:

  1. The clock signal hasn't been started yet by the time the MAC driver
     initializes its hardware. This can make the initialization fail, as in
      the case of the rzn1 GMAC1 driver.
  2. The clock signal is cut during a power saving event. By the time the
     MAC is brought back up, the clock signal is still not active since
     phylink_start hasn't been called yet. This brings us back to case 1.

If a PHY driver reads this flag, it should ensure that the receive clock
signal is started as soon as possible, and that it isn't brought down when
the PHY goes into suspend.

Christian Marangi 6a4aee2777 net: phy: qcom: at803x: fix kernel panic with at8031_probe
On reworking and splitting the at803x driver, in splitting function of
at803x PHYs it was added a NULL dereference bug where priv is referenced
before it's actually allocated and then is tried to write to for the
is_1000basex and is_fiber variables in the case of at8031, writing on
the wrong address.

Fix this by correctly setting priv local variable only after
at803x_probe is called and actually allocates priv in the phydev struct.

Nikita Kiryushin 32fa4366cc net: phy: fix phy_read_poll_timeout argument type in genphy_loopback
read_poll_timeout inside phy_read_poll_timeout can set val negative
in some cases (for example, __mdiobus_read inside phy_read can return
-EOPNOTSUPP).

Supposedly, commit 4ec7329517 ("net: phylib: fix phy_read*_poll_timeout()")
should fix problems with wrong-signed vals, but I do not see how
as val is sent to phy_read as is and __val = phy_read (not val)
is checked for sign.

Change val type for signed to allow better error handling as done in other
phy_read_poll_timeout callers. This will not fix any error handling
by itself, but allows, for example, to modify cond with appropriate
sign check or check resulting val separately.

Found by Linux Verification Center (linuxtesting.org) with SVACE.

Heiner Kallweit c786459fc8 net: phy: simplify a check in phy_check_link_status
Handling case err == 0 in the other branch allows to simplify the
code. In addition I assume in "err & phydev->eee_cfg.tx_lpi_enabled"
it should have been a logical and operator. It works as expected also
with the bitwise and, but using a bitwise and with a bool value looks
ugly to me.

Tim Pambor c8a5c731fd net: phy: dp83822: Fix RGMII TX delay configuration
The logic for enabling the TX clock shift is inverse of enabling the RX
clock shift. The TX clock shift is disabled when DP83822_TX_CLK_SHIFT is
set. Correct the current behavior and always write the delay configuration
to ensure consistent delay settings regardless of bootloader configuration.

Kévin L'hôpital 4469c0c5b1 net: phy: fix phy_get_internal_delay accessing an empty array
The phy_get_internal_delay function could try to access to an empty
array in the case that the driver is calling phy_get_internal_delay
without defining delay_values and rx-internal-delay-ps or
tx-internal-delay-ps is defined to 0 in the device-tree.
This will lead to "unable to handle kernel NULL pointer dereference at
virtual address 0". To avoid this kernel oops, the test should be delay
>= 0. As there is already delay < 0 test just before, the test could
only be size == 0.

Robert Marko 1677293ed8 net: phy: qca807x: fix compilation when CONFIG_GPIOLIB is not set
Kernel bot has discovered that if CONFIG_GPIOLIB is not set compilation
will fail.

Upon investigation the issue is that qca807x_gpio() is guarded by a
preprocessor check but then it is called under
if (IS_ENABLED(CONFIG_GPIOLIB)) in the probe call so the compiler will
error out since qca807x_gpio() has not been declared if CONFIG_GPIOLIB has
not been set.

Andrew Lunn 49168d1980 net: phy: Add phy_support_eee() indicating MAC support EEE
In order for EEE to operate, both the MAC and the PHY need to support
it, similar to how pause works. With some exception - a number of PHYs
have SmartEEE or AutoGrEEEn support in order to provide some EEE-like
power savings with non-EEE capable MACs.

Copy the pause concept and add the call phy_support_eee() which the MAC
makes after connecting the PHY to indicate it supports EEE. phylib will
then advertise EEE when auto-neg is performed.

Andrew Lunn 3e43b903da net: phy: Immediately call adjust_link if only tx_lpi_enabled changes
The MAC driver changes its EEE hardware configuration in its
adjust_link callback. This is called when auto-neg
completes. Disabling EEE via eee_enabled false will trigger an
autoneg, and as a result the adjust_link callback will be called with
phydev->enable_tx_lpi set to false. Similarly, eee_enabled set to true
and with a change of advertised link modes will result in a new
autoneg, and a call the adjust_link call.

If set_eee is called with only a change to tx_lpi_enabled which does
not trigger an auto-neg, it is necessary to call the adjust_link
callback so that the MAC is reconfigured to take this change into
account.

When setting phydev->enable_tx_lpi, take both eee_enabled and
tx_lpi_enabled into account, so the MAC drivers just needs to act on
phydev->enable_tx_lpi and not the whole EEE configuration.
The same check should be done for tx_lpi_timer too.

Andrew Lunn fe0d4fd928 net: phy: Keep track of EEE configuration
Have phylib keep track of the EEE configuration. This simplifies the
MAC drivers, in that they don't need to store it.

Future patches to phylib will also make use of this information to
further simplify the MAC drivers.

Andrew Lunn e3b6876ab8 net: phy: Add phydev->enable_tx_lpi to simplify adjust link callbacks
MAC drivers which support EEE need to know the results of the EEE
auto-neg in order to program the hardware to perform EEE or not.  The
oddly named phy_init_eee() can be used to determine this, it returns 0
if EEE should be used, or a negative error code,
e.g. -EOPPROTONOTSUPPORT if the PHY does not support EEE or negotiate
resulted in it not being used.

However, many MAC drivers get this wrong. Add phydev->enable_tx_lpi
which indicates the result of the autoneg for EEE, including if EEE is
administratively disabled with ethtool. The MAC driver can then access
this in the same way as link speed and duplex in the adjust link
callback. If enable_tx_lpi is true, the MAC should send low power
indications and does not need to consider anything else with respect
to EEE.

Horatiu Vultur ad080db448 net: phy: micrel: lan8814 cable improvement errata
When the length of the cable is more than 100m and the lan8814 is
configured to run in 1000Base-T Slave then the register of the device
needs to be optimized.

Workaround this by setting the measure time to a value of 0xb. This
value can be set regardless of the configuration.

This issue is described in 'LAN8814 Silicon Errata and Data Sheet
Clarification' and according to that, this will not be corrected in a
future silicon revision.

Horatiu Vultur e9097f8e1e net: phy: micrel: lan8814 led errata
Lan8814 phy led behavior is not correct. It was noticed that the led
still remains ON when the cable is unplugged while there was traffic
passing at that time.

The fix consists in clearing bit 10 of register 0x38, in this way the
led behaviour is correct and gets OFF when there is no link.

Jérémie Dautheribes 2844a0d7cf net: phy: dp83826: support configuring RMII master/slave operation mode
The TI DP83826 PHY can operate between two RMII modes:
	- master mode (PHY operates from a 25MHz clock reference)
        - slave mode (PHY operates from a 50MHz clock reference)

By default, the operation mode is configured by hardware straps.

Add support to configure the operation mode from within the driver.

The TI DP83826 PHY can operate in either MII mode or RMII mode.
By default, it is configured by straps.
It can also be configured by writing to the bit 5 of register 0x17 - RMII
and Status Register (RCSR).

When phydev->interface is rmii, rmii mode must be enabled, otherwise
mii mode must be set.
This prevents misconfiguration of hw straps.

Siddharth Vadapalli 3489182b11 net: phy: realtek: Fix rtl8211f_config_init() for RTL8211F(D)(I)-VD-CG PHY
Commit bb726b753f ("net: phy: realtek: add support for
RTL8211F(D)(I)-VD-CG") extended support of the driver from the existing
support for RTL8211F(D)(I)-CG PHY to the newer RTL8211F(D)(I)-VD-CG PHY.

While that commit indicated that the RTL8211F_PHYCR2 register is not
supported by the "VD-CG" PHY model and therefore updated the corresponding
section in rtl8211f_config_init() to be invoked conditionally, the call to
"genphy_soft_reset()" was left as-is, when it should have also been invoked
conditionally. This is because the call to "genphy_soft_reset()" was first
introduced by the commit 0a4355c2b7 ("net: phy: realtek: add dt property
to disable CLKOUT clock") since the RTL8211F guide indicates that a PHY
reset should be issued after setting bits in the PHYCR2 register.

As the PHYCR2 register is not applicable to the "VD-CG" PHY model, fix the
rtl8211f_config_init() function by invoking "genphy_soft_reset()"
conditionally based on the presence of the "PHYCR2" register.

Robert Marko 3be0d950b6 net: phy: qca807x: move interface mode check to .config_init_once
Currently, we are checking whether the PHY package mode matches the
individual PHY interface modes at PHY package probe time, but at that time
we only know the PHY package mode and not the individual PHY interface
modes as of_get_phy_mode() that populates it will only get called once the
netdev to which PHY-s are attached to is being probed and thus this check
will always fail and return -EINVAL.

So, lets move this check to .config_init_once as at that point individual
PHY interface modes should be populated.

Catalin Popescu d1d77120bc net: phy: dp83826: support TX data voltage tuning
DP83826 offers the possibility to tune the voltage of logical
levels of the MLT-3 encoded TX data. This is useful when there
is a voltage drop in between the PHY and the connector and we
want to increase the voltage levels to compensate for that drop.

Prior to PHY configuration, the driver SW resets the PHY which has
the same effect as the HW reset pin according to the datasheet.
Hence, there's no need to force update the VOD_CFG registers to make
sure they hold their reset values. VOD_CFG registers need to be
updated only if the DT has been configured with values other than
the reset ones.

Robert Marko bed90b06b6 net: phy: aquantia: clear PMD Global Transmit Disable bit during init
PMD Global Transmit Disable bit should be cleared for normal operation.
This should be HW default, however I found that on Asus RT-AX89X that uses
AQR113C PHY and firmware 5.4 this bit is set by default.

With this bit set the AQR cannot achieve a link with its link-partner and
it took me multiple hours of digging through the vendor GPL source to find
this out, so lets always clear this bit during .config_init() to avoid a
situation like this in the future.

QCA8072/5 have up to 2 LEDs attached for PHY.

LEDs can be configured to be ON/hw blink or be set to HW control.

Hw blink mode is set to blink at 4Hz or 250ms.

PHY can support both copper (TP) or fiber (FIBRE) kind and supports
different HW control modes based on the port type.

HW control modes supported for netdev trigger for copper ports are:
- LINK_10
- LINK_100
- LINK_1000
- TX
- RX
- FULL_DUPLEX
- HALF_DUPLEX

HW control modes supported for netdev trigger for fiber ports are:
- LINK_100
- LINK_1000
- TX
- RX
- FULL_DUPLEX
- HALF_DUPLEX

LED support conflicts with GPIO controller feature and must be disabled
if gpio-controller is used for the PHY.

This adds driver for the Qualcomm QCA8072 and QCA8075 PHY-s.

They are 2 or 5 port IEEE 802.3 clause 22 compliant 10BASE-Te,
100BASE-TX and 1000BASE-T PHY-s.

They feature 2 SerDes, one for PSGMII or QSGMII connection with
MAC, while second one is SGMII for connection to MAC or fiber.

Both models have a combo port that supports 1000BASE-X and
100BASE-FX fiber.

PHY package can be configured in 3 mode following this table:

              First Serdes mode       Second Serdes mode
Option 1      PSGMII for copper       Disabled
              ports 0-4
Option 2      PSGMII for copper       1000BASE-X / 100BASE-FX
              ports 0-4
Option 3      QSGMII for copper       SGMII for
              ports 0-3               copper port 4

Each PHY inside of QCA807x series has 4 digitally controlled
output only pins that natively drive LED-s.
But some vendors used these to driver generic LED-s controlled
by userspace, so lets enable registering each PHY as GPIO
controller and add driver for it.

These are commonly used in Qualcomm IPQ40xx, IPQ60xx and IPQ807x
boards.

Christian Marangi 471e8fd3af net: phy: add devm/of_phy_package_join helper
Add devm/of_phy_package_join helper to join PHYs in a PHY package. These
are variant of the manual phy_package_join with the difference that
these will use DT nodes to derive the base_addr instead of manually
passing an hardcoded value.

An additional value is added in phy_package_shared, "np" to reference
the PHY package node pointer in specific PHY driver probe_once and
config_init_once functions to make use of additional specific properties
defined in the PHY package node in DT.

The np value is filled only with of_phy_package_join if a valid PHY
package node is found. A valid PHY package node must have the node name
set to "ethernet-phy-package".

Christian Marangi 385ef48f46 net: phy: add support for scanning PHY in PHY packages nodes
Add support for scanning PHY in PHY package nodes. PHY packages nodes
are just container for actual PHY on the MDIO bus.

Their PHY address defined in the PHY package node are absolute and
reflect the address on the MDIO bus.

mdio_bus.c and of_mdio.c is updated to now support and parse also
PHY package subnode by checking if the node name match
"ethernet-phy-package".

As PHY package reg is mandatory and each PHY in the PHY package must
have a reg, every invalid PHY Package node is ignored and will be
skipped by the autoscan fallback.

Andrew Lunn 17b4475394 net: phy: c45 scanning: Don't consider -ENODEV fatal
When scanning the MDIO bus for C22 devices, the driver returning
-ENODEV is not considered fatal, it just indicates the MDIO bus master
knows there is no device at that address, maybe because of hardware
limitation.

Make the C45 scan code act on -ENODEV the same way, to make C22 and
C45 more uniform.

It is expected all reads for a given address will return -ENODEV, so
within get_phy_c45_ids() only the first place a read occurs has been
changed.

Horatiu Vultur 7d7bf30f03 net: micrel: Fix the frequency adjustments
By default lan8841's 1588 clock frequency is 125MHz. But when adjusting
the frequency, it is using the 1PPM format of the lan8814. Which is the
wrong format as lan8814 has a 1588 clock frequency of 250MHz. So then
for each 1PPM adjustment would adjust less than expected.
Therefore fix this by using the correct 1PPM format for lan8841.

qca808x PHY provide support for the led_polarity_set OP to configure
and apply the active-low property but on PHY reset, the Active High bit
is not set resulting in the LED driven as active-low.

To fix this, check if active-low is not set in DT and enable Active High
polarity by default to restore correct funcionality of the LED.

A user reported that first consumer mainboards show up with a RTL8126A
5Gbps MAC/PHY. This adds support for the integrated PHY, which is also
available stand-alone. From a PHY driver perspective it's treated the
same as the 2.5Gbps PHY's, we just have to support the new PHY ID.

Almost all the QCA8081 PHY driver OPs are specific and only some of them
use the generic at803x.

To make the at803x code slimmer, move all the specific qca808x regs and
functions to a dedicated PHY driver.

Probe function and priv struct is reworked to allocate and use only the
qca808x specific data. Unused data from at803x PHY driver are dropped
from at803x priv struct.

Also a new Kconfig is introduced QCA808X_PHY, to compile the newly
introduced PHY driver for QCA8081 PHY.

As the Kconfig name starts with Qualcomm the same order is kept.

The QCA83xx PHYs implement specific function and doesn't use generic
at803x so it can be detached from the driver and moved to a dedicated
one.

Heiner Kallweit d80a523353 ethtool: replace struct ethtool_eee with a new struct ethtool_keee on kernel side
In order to pass EEE link modes beyond bit 32 to userspace we have to
complement the 32 bit bitmaps in struct ethtool_eee with linkmode
bitmaps. Therefore, similar to ethtool_link_settings and
ethtool_link_ksettings, add a struct ethtool_keee. In a first step
it's an identical copy of ethtool_eee. This patch simply does a
s/ethtool_eee/ethtool_keee/g for all users.
No functional change intended.

bits) they were ignored. Meaning that setting some time in the future like
year 2150, it was failing to set this.

Christian Marangi 7196062b64 net: phy: at803x: add LED support for qca808x
Add LED support for QCA8081 PHY.

Documentation for this LEDs PHY is very scarce even with NDA access
to Documentation for OEMs. Only the blink pattern are documented and are
very confusing most of the time. No documentation is present about
forcing the LED on/off or to always blink.

Those settings were reversed by poking the regs and trying to find the
correct bits to trigger these modes. Some bits mode are not clear and
maybe the documentation option are not 100% correct. For the sake of LED
support the reversed option are enough to add support for current LED
APIs.

Supported HW control modes are:
- tx
- rx
- link_10
- link_100
- link_1000
- link_2500
- half_duplex
- full_duplex

Also add support for LED polarity set to set LED polarity to active
high or low. QSDK sets this value to high by default but PHY reset value
doesn't have this enabled by default.

QSDK also sets 2 additional bits but their usage is not clear, info about
this is added in the header. It was verified that for correct function
of the LED if active high is needed, only BIT 6 is needed.

Christian Marangi 7ae215ee7b net: phy: add support for PHY LEDs polarity modes
Add support for PHY LEDs polarity modes. Some PHY require LED to be set
to active low to be turned ON. Adds support for this by declaring
active-low property in DT.

PHY driver needs to declare .led_polarity_set() to configure LED
polarity modes. Function will pass the index with the LED index and a
bitmap with all the required modes to set.

Current supported modes are:
- active-low with the flag PHY_LED_ACTIVE_LOW. LED is set to active-low
  to turn it ON.
- inactive-high-impedance with the flag PHY_LED_INACTIVE_HIGH_IMPEDANCE.
  LED is set to high impedance to turn it OFF.

the frame. And if one of these checks fail then the frame is not
timestamp. Most of these checks were disabled except checking the field
minorVersionPTP inside the PTP header. Meaning that once a partner sends
a frame compliant to 8021AS which has minorVersionPTP set to 1, then the
frame was not timestamp because the HW expected by default a value of 0
in minorVersionPTP. This is exactly the same issue as on lan8841.
Fix this issue by removing this check so the userspace can decide on this.

Russell King (Oracle) 97eb5d51b4 net: sfp-bus: fix SFP mode detect from bitrate
The referenced commit moved the setting of the Autoneg and pause bits
early in sfp_parse_support(). However, we check whether the modes are
empty before using the bitrate to set some modes. Setting these bits
so early causes that test to always be false, preventing this working,
and thus some modules that used to work no longer do.

Move them just before the call to the quirk.

Claudiu Beznea e398822c47 net: phy: micrel: populate .soft_reset for KSZ9131
The RZ/G3S SMARC Module has 2 KSZ9131 PHYs. In this setup, the KSZ9131 PHY
is used with the ravb Ethernet driver. It has been discovered that when
bringing the Ethernet interface down/up continuously, e.g., with the
following sh script:

$ while :; do ifconfig eth0 down; ifconfig eth0 up; done

the link speed and duplex are wrong after interrupting the bring down/up
operation even though the Ethernet interface is up. To recover from this
state the following configuration sequence is necessary (executed
manually):

$ ifconfig eth0 down
$ ifconfig eth0 up

The behavior has been identified also on the Microchip SAMA7G5-EK board
which runs the macb driver and uses the same PHY.

The order of PHY-related operations in ravb_open() is as follows:
ravb_open() ->
  ravb_phy_start() ->
    ravb_phy_init() ->
      of_phy_connect() ->
        phy_connect_direct() ->
	  phy_attach_direct() ->
	    phy_init_hw() ->
	      phydev->drv->soft_reset()
	      phydev->drv->config_init()
	      phydev->drv->config_intr()
	    phy_resume()
	      kszphy_resume()

The order of PHY-related operations in ravb_close is as follows:
ravb_close() ->
  phy_stop() ->
    phy_suspend() ->
      kszphy_suspend() ->
        genphy_suspend()
	  // set BMCR_PDOWN bit in MII_BMCR

In genphy_suspend() setting the BMCR_PDWN bit in MII_BMCR switches the PHY
to Software Power-Down (SPD) mode (according to the KSZ9131 datasheet).
Thus, when opening the interface after it has been  previously closed (via
ravb_close()), the phydev->drv->config_init() and
phydev->drv->config_intr() reach the KSZ9131 PHY driver via the
ksz9131_config_init() and kszphy_config_intr() functions.

KSZ9131 specifies that the MII management interface remains operational
during SPD (Software Power-Down), but (according to manual):
- Only access to the standard registers (0 through 31) is supported.
- Access to MMD address spaces other than MMD address space 1 is possible
  if the spd_clock_gate_override bit is set.
- Access to MMD address space 1 is not possible.

The spd_clock_gate_override bit is not used in the KSZ9131 driver.

ksz9131_config_init() configures RGMII delay, pad skews and LEDs by
accessesing MMD registers other than those in address space 1.

The datasheet for the KSZ9131 does not specify what happens if registers
from an unsupported address space are accessed while the PHY is in SPD.

To fix the issue the .soft_reset method has been instantiated for KSZ9131,
too. This resets the PHY to the default state before doing any
configurations to it, thus switching it out of SPD.

Short.

Add all the define to make enable and support these additional tests.

Cross Short test was previously disabled by default, this is now changed

Russell King (Oracle) 3b73a7b8ec net: mdio_bus: add refcounting for fwnodes to mdiobus
Luiz Angelo Daros de Luca reports that the MDIO bus code maintains a
reference to the DT node, but does not hold a refcount on the node.

The simple solution to this is to add the necessary refcounting into
the MDIO bus code for all users, ensuring that on registration, the
refcount is incremented, and only dropped when the MDIO bus is
released.

Do this for fwnodes, so we not only fix this for DT, but also other
types of firmware nodes as well.
