Piotr Marczak 2622133173 i40e: Fix for 10G ports LED not blinking
On some hardware LEDs would not blink after command 'ethtool -p {eth-port}'
in certain circumstances. Now, function does not care about the activity
of the LED (though still preserves its state) but forcibly executes
identification blinking and then restores the LED state.

Aleksandr Loktionov cdc594e003 i40e: Implement DDP support in i40e driver
This patch introduces DDP (Dynamic Device Personalization) which allows
loading profiles that change the way internal parser interprets processed
frames. To load DDP profiles it utilizes ethtool flash feature. The files
with recipes must be located in /var/lib/firmware directory. Afterwards
the recipe can be loaded by invoking:

    ethtool -f <if_name> <file_name> 100
    ethtool -f <if_name> - 100

See further details of this feature in the i40e documentation, or
visit
https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/architecture-and-technology/ethernet/dynamic-device-personalization-brief.html

The driver shall verify DDP profile can be loaded in accordance with
the rules:
* Package with Group ID 0 are exclusive and can only be loaded the first.
* Packages with Group ID 0x01-0xFE can only be loaded simultaneously
with the packages from the same group.
* Packages with Group ID 0xFF are compatible with all other packages.

Jacob Keller 3d72aebfc6 i40e: Fix for NUP NVM image downgrade failure
Since commit 96a39aed25 ("i40e: Acquire NVM lock before
reads on all devices") we've used the NVM lock
to synchronize NVM reads even on devices which don't strictly
need the lock.

Doing so can cause a regression on older firmware prior to 1.5,
especially when downgrading the firmware.

Fix this by only grabbing the lock if we're running on an X722
device (which requires the lock as it uses the AdminQ to read
the NVM), or if we're currently running 1.5 or newer firmware.

Amritha Nambiar 2f4b411a3d i40e: Enable cloud filters via tc-flower
This patch enables tc-flower based hardware offloads. tc flower
filter provided by the kernel is configured as driver specific
cloud filter. The patch implements functions and admin queue
commands needed to support cloud filters in the driver and
adds cloud filters to configure these tc-flower filters.

The classification function of the filter is to direct matched
packets to a traffic class. The hardware traffic class is set
based on the the classid reserved in the range :ffe0 - :ffef.

Match Dst MAC and route to TC0:
  prio 1 flower dst_mac 3c:fd:fe:a0:d6:70 skip_sw\
  hw_tc 1

Match Dst IPv4,Dst Port and route to TC1:
  prio 2 flower dst_ip 192.168.3.5/32\
  ip_proto udp dst_port 25 skip_sw\
  hw_tc 2

Match Dst IPv6,Dst Port and route to TC1:
  prio 3 flower dst_ip fe8::200:1\
  ip_proto udp dst_port 66 skip_sw\
  hw_tc 2

Delete tc flower filter:
Example:

Flow Director Sideband is disabled while configuring cloud filters
via tc-flower and until any cloud filter exists.

Unsupported matches when cloud filters are added using enhanced
big buffer cloud filter mode of underlying switch include:
1. source port and source IP
2. Combined MAC address and IP fields.
3. Not specifying L4 port

These filter matches can however be used to redirect traffic to
the main VSI (tc 0) which does not require the enhanced big buffer
cloud filter support.

Jacob Keller b5d5504aa1 i40e: prevent snprintf format specifier truncation
Increase the size of the prefix buffer so that it can hold enough
characters for every possible input. Although 20 is enough for all
expected inputs, it is possible for the values to be larger than
expected, resulting in a possibly truncated string. Additionally, lets
use sizeof(prefix) in order to ensure we use the correct size if we need
to change the array length in the future.

New versions of GCC starting at 7 now include warnings to prevent
truncation unless you handle the return code. At most 27 bytes can be
written here, so lets just increase the buffer size even if for all
expected hw->bus.* values we only needed 20.

Carolyn Wyborny 3123237af5 i40e: Add support for 25G devices
Add support for 25G devices - defines and data structures.

One tricky part here is that the firmware support for these
Devices introduces a mismatch between the PHY type enum and
the bitfields for the phy types.

This change creates a macro and uses it to increment the 25G
PHY values when creating 25G bitfields.

Jacob Keller 435c084aad i40e: set broadcast promiscuous mode for each active VLAN
A previous workaround added to ensure receipt of all broadcast frames
incorrectly set the broadcast promiscuous mode unconditionally
regardless of active VLAN status.

Replace this partial workaround with a complete solution that sets the
broadcast promiscuous filters in i40e_sync_vsi_filters. This new method
sets the promiscuous mode based on when broadcast filters are added or
removed.

I40E_VLAN_ANY will request a broadcast filter for all VLANs, (as we're
in untagged mode) while a broadcast filter on a specific VLAN will only
request broadcast for that VLAN.

Thus, we restore addition of broadcast filter to the array, but we add
special handling for these such that they enable the broadcast
promiscuous mode instead of being sent as regular filters.

The end result is that we will correctly receive all broadcast packets
(even those with a *source* address equal to the broadcast address) but
will not receive packets for which we don't have an active VLAN filter.

Henry Tieman e586bb66b5 i40e: Pass unknown PHY type for unknown PHYs
The PHY type value for unrecognized PHYs and cables was changed
based on firmware version number. Newer hardware use lower firmware
version numbers and this was causing some PHYs to be identified
as type 0x16 instead of 0xe (unknown).

Without this patch, newer card will incorrectly identify unknown
PHYs and cables.

This change adds hardware type to the check for firmware version
so the PHY type is reported correctly.

This patch adds priv-flag knob to configure global true promisc
support. With this patch the user can decide the flavor of
promiscuous that the VFs will see when promiscuous mode is enabled
on the interface. Since this a global setting for the whole device,
the priv-flag is exposed only on the first PF of the device.

The default is true promisc support is off, which means the promisc
mode for the VF will be limited/defport mode.

For the PF, we still will be in limited promisc unless in MFP mode
irrespective of the flavor picked through this knob.

Usage:
On PF0
ethtool --show-priv-flags p261p1
Private flags for p261p1:
MFP : off
LinkPolling : off
flow-director-atr : on
veb-stats : off
hw-atr-eviction : off
vf-true-promisc-support: off

to enable setting true promisc
ethtool --set-priv-flags p261p1 vf-true-promisc-support on

At this point if the VF is set to trust and promisc is enabled
on the VF through
ip link set ... promisc on
The VF/VFs will be able to see ALL ingress traffic

Carolyn Wyborny 8589af70d0 i40e: fix for PHY NVM interaction problem
This patch fixes a problem where the NVMUpdate Tool, when using the PHY
NVM feature, gets bad data from the PHY because of contention on the
MDIO interface from get PHY capability calls from the driver during
regular operations. The problem is fixed by adding a check if media
is available before calling get PHY capability function because that
bit is not set when device is in PHY interaction mode.

Anjali Singhai 07f89be81f i40e: Fix basic support for X722 devices
Acquire NVM, before issuing an AQ read nvm command for X722.
We need to acquire the NVM before issuing an AQ read to the NVM
otherwise we will get EBUSY from the FW. Also release when done.

This fixes the two X722 issues with respect to eeprom checksum verify
and reading NVM version info.

With this patch in place, i40e driver will provide basic support
for X722 devices.

Catherine Sullivan 0a862b43ac i40e/i40evf: Add module_types and update_link_info
Add a module_types variable to the link_info struct to save the module
information from get_phy_capabilities. This information can be used to
determine which speeds the module supports.

Also add a new function update_link_info which updates the module_types
parameter and then calls get_link_info. This function should be called
in place of get_link_info so that the module_types variable stays
up-to-date with the rest of the link information.

The EAS table does not reflect the values that are actually returned,
so instead, basing these values on the Ethernet compliance codes
specified in table 33 of SFF-8436 as these have been accurate.

Use the new variable in ethtool to differentiate between a 10G/1G dual
speed fiber module and a 10G only module.

Jesse Brandeburg a72a5abcb3 i40e: fix bug in return from get_link_status and avoid spurious link messages
Previously, the driver could call this function and have only true/false
returned, but false could mean multiple things like failure to read
or link was down. This change allows the caller to get all return values
in the call chain bubbled back to the source, which keeps information about
failures from being lost.

Also, in some unlikely scenarios, the firmware can become slow to respond
to admin queue (AQ) queries for link state. Should the AQ time out,
the driver can detect the state and avoid a link change when there
may have been none.
