perf tools: Add get_unaligned_leNN()
Add get_unaligned_le16(), get_unaligned_le32 and get_unaligned_le64, same as include/asm-generic/unaligned.h. And add include/asm-generic/unaligned.h to check-headers.sh bringing tools/include/asm-generic/unaligned.h up to date so that the kernel and tools versions match. Use diagnostic pragmas to ignore -Wpacked used by perf build. tools headers UAPI: Copy seccomp.h to be able to build 'perf bench' in older systems
The new 'perf bench' for sched-seccomp-notify uses defines and types not
available in older systems where we want to have perf available, so grab
a copy of this UAPI from the kernel sources to allow that.
This will be checked in the future for drift from the original when we
build the perf tool, that will warn when that happens like:

Disable building BPF based features by default for v6.4.

Pull perf tool updates from Arnaldo Carvalho de Melo:
"Third version of perf tool updates, with the build problems with with
using a 'vmlinux.h' generated from the main build fixed, and the bpf
skeleton build disabled by default.
Build:
- Require libtraceevent to build, one can disable it using
NO_LIBTRACEEVENT=1.
It is required for tools like 'perf sched', 'perf kvm', 'perf
trace', etc.
libtraceevent is available in most distros so installing
'libtraceevent-devel' should be a one-time event to continue
building perf as usual.
Using NO_LIBTRACEEVENT=1 produces tooling that is functional and
sufficient for lots of users not interested in those libtraceevent
dependent features.
- Allow Python support in 'perf script' when libtraceevent isn't
linked, as not all features requires it, for instance Intel PT does
not use tracepoints.
- Error if the python interpreter needed for jevents to work isn't
available and NO_JEVENTS=1 isn't set, preventing a build without
support for JSON vendor events, which is a rare but possible
condition. The two check error messages:
$(error ERROR: No python interpreter needed for jevents generation. Install python or build with NO_JEVENTS=1.)
$(error ERROR: Python interpreter needed for jevents generation too old (older than 3.6). Install a newer python or build with NO_JEVENTS=1.)
- Make libbpf 1.0 the minimum required when building with out of
tree, distro provided libbpf.
- Use libsdtc++'s and LLVM's libcxx's __cxa_demangle, a portable C++
demangler, add 'perf test' entry for it.
- Make binutils libraries opt in, as distros disable building with it
due to licensing, they were used for C++ demangling, for instance.
- Switch libpfm4 to opt-out rather than opt-in, if libpfm-devel (or
equivalent) isn't installed, we'll just have a build warning:
Makefile.config:1144: libpfm4 not found, disables libpfm4 support. Please install libpfm4-dev
- Add a feature test for scandirat(), that is not implemented so far
in musl and uclibc, disabling features that need it, such as
scanning for tracepoints in /sys/kernel/tracing/events.

tools arm64: Import cputype.h
Bring-in the kernel's arch/arm64/include/asm/cputype.h into tools/ for arm64 to make use of all the core-type definitions in perf. Replace sysreg.h with the version already imported into tools/. perf report: Add tools/arch/x86/include/asm/amd-ibs.h
This is a tools/-side patch for the patch that adds the original copy of the IBS header file, in arch/x86/include/asm/. We also add an entry to check-headers.sh, so future changes continue to be copied. Committer notes: Had to add this -#include <asm/msr-index.h> +#include "msr-index.h" And change the check-headers.sh entry to ignore this line when diffing with the original kernel header. This is needed so that we can use 'perf report' on a perf.data with IBS data on a !x86 system, i.e. building on ARM fails without this as there is no asm/msr-index.h there. This was done on the next patch in this series and is done for things like Intel PT and ARM CoreSight. perf stat:
- Add support for hybrid PMUs to support systems such as Intel Alderlake
and its BIG/little core/atom cpus.
- Introduce 'bperf' to share hardware PMCs with BPF.

perf tools: Separate the checking of headers only used to build beautification tables
Some headers are not used in building the tools directly, but instead to generate tables that then gets source code included to do id->string and string->id lookups for things like syscall flags and commands. We were adding it directly to tools/include/ and this sometimes gets in the way of building using system headers, lets untangle this a bit. More work is still needed to allow for the more natura strace-like
syscall name usage instead of the trace event name:
# perf trace -e socket/max-stack=10,family==INET/ --max-events=1
I.e. to allow for modifiers to follow the syscall name and for logical
expressions to be accepted as filters to use with that syscall, be it as
trace event filters or BPF based ones.
Using -v we can see how the trace event filter is built:

perf tools: Grab a copy of libbpf's hashmap
Allow use of hashmap in perf. Modify perf's check-headers.sh script to check that the files are kept in sync, in the same way kernel headers are checked. This will warn if they are out of sync at the start of a perf build. Committer note: This starts out of synch as a fix went thru the bpf tree, namely the one removing the needless libbpf_internal.h include in hashmap.h. There is also another change related to __WORDSIZE, that as is in tools/lib/bpf/hashmap.h causes the tools/perf/ build to fail in systems such as Alpine Linus, that uses the Musl libc, so we need an alternative way of having __WORDSIZE available, use the one used by tools/include/linux/bitops.h, that builds in all the systems I have build containers for. These differences will be resolved at some point, so keep the warning in check-headers.sh as a reminder. x86: xen: insn: Decode Xen and KVM emulate-prefix signature
Decode Xen and KVM's emulate-prefix signature by x86 insn decoder. It is called "prefix" but actually not x86 instruction prefix, so this adds insn.emulate_prefix_size field instead of reusing insn.prefixes. If x86 decoder finds a special sequence of instructions of XEN_EMULATE_PREFIX and 'ud2a; .ascii "kvm"', it just counts the length, set insn.emulate_prefix_size and fold it with the next instruction. In other words, the signature and the next instruction is treated as a single instruction. perf intel-pt: Use shared x86 insn decoder
Now that there's a common version of the decoder for all tools, use it instead of the local copy. Also use perf's check-headers.sh script to diff the decoder files to make sure they remain in sync with the kernel version. Objtool has a similar check. Committer notes: Had to keep this all pointing explicitely to x86 headers/files, i.e. instead of asm/isnn.h we had to use ../include/asm/insn.h when the files were in differemt dirs, or just replace "<asm/foo.h>" with "foo.h". This way we continue to be able to process perf.data files with Intel PT traces in distros other than x86. Also fixed up the awk script paths to use $(srcdir)/tools/arch instead or relative directories so that we keep detached tarballs (make help | grep perf) working. For now the include lines in these headers are being ignored so as not to flag false reports of kernel/tools out of sync. tools perf: Move from sane_ctype.h obtained from git to the Linux's original
We got the sane_ctype.h headers from git and kept using it so far, but since that code originally came from the kernel sources to the git sources, perhaps its better to just use the one in the kernel, so that we can leverage tools/perf/check_headers.sh to be notified when our copy gets out of sync, i.e. when fixes or goodies are added to the code we've copied. This will help with things like tools/lib/string.c where we want to have more things in common with the kernel, such as strim(), skip_spaces(), etc so as to go on removing the things that we have in tools/perf/util/ and instead using the code in the kernel, indirectly and removing things like EXPORT_SYMBOL(), etc, getting notified when fixes and improvements are made to the original code. Hopefully this also should help with reducing the difference of code hosted in tools/ to the one in the kernel proper. tools include: Adopt linux/bits.h
So that we reduce the difference of tools/include/linux/bitops.h to the
original kernel file, include/linux/bitops.h, trying to remove the need
to define BITS_PER_LONG, to avoid clashes with asm/bitsperlong.h.
And the things removed from tools/include/linux/bitops.h are really in
linux/bits.h, so that we can have a copy and then
tools/perf/check_headers.sh will tell us when new stuff gets added to
linux/bits.h so that we can check if it is useful and if any adjustment
needs to be done to the tools/{include,arch}/ copies.

perf check-headers.sh: Simplify arguments passing
Passing whole string instead of parsing them after. It simplifies things for the next patches, that adds another function call, which makes it hard to pass arguments in the correct shape. perf build: Fix check-headers.sh opts assignment
Currently the "opts" variable is not zero-ed and we keep on adding to it, ending up with: $ check-headers.sh 2>&1 + opts=' "-B"' + opts=' "-B" "-B"' + opts=' "-B" "-B" "-B"' + opts=' "-B" "-B" "-B" "-B"' + opts=' "-B" "-B" "-B" "-B" "-B"' + opts=' "-B" "-B" "-B" "-B" "-B" "-B"' Fix this by initializing it in the check() function, right before starting the loop.
