# Resolve-IPAddress

Resolves a given hostename to its associated IPv4 address.
|

## SYNTAX
|
|
|
|
```

Resolve-IPAddress [[-ComputerName] <String[]>]
|
|
```

|
## DESCRIPTION
|
|
Resolves a given hostename to its associated IPv4 address using
|
|
\[Net.Dns\]::GetHostEntry().
|
|
If no hostname is provided, the default
|
|
is the IP address of the localhost.
|
|
|
|
